THE BRECHIN and Montrose groups of Contact the Elderly (CtE) were treated to afternoon tea by the ladies of Brechin Inner Wheel for their annual Day of Service.
This is normally held in January, but it was decided to have it in April instead because of the likelihood of bad weather.
Over 30 elderly guests, volunteers and hosts gathered in the beautiful setting of The Burn House in Edzell where they enjoyed making new friends, a roaring fire, and a delicious tea.
CtE caters for over-75s who live alone and do not have much social contact. Volunteers take the elderly guests to afternoon tea at a different host’s house each month, and occasionally we have an extra outing courtesy of people like the ladies of the Inner Wheel.
The charity is hoping to hit the charts in June with the launch of a single called ‘See Yourself’.
Anchor, England’s largest provider of not for profit care and housing for the over 55’s has created The Anchor Community Band from among it’s customers and all the profits from the sale of the song will go to CtE for its work throughout the UK Lyrics are from CtE members as well as Anchor residents.
The song is available for pre-release orders on Amazon; on June 2, the single will be available to download digitally from iTunes and on June 3, it will be available to buy as a single from Amazon
