Delivering funds for Scouts

Have your say

THE CHRISTMAS card delivery service operated by the Brechin Scouts Group has raised an incredible a £4,860.

Dorothy Black, the treasurer of the group, and Elizabeth Kidd, who is the chairperson, thanked local stores Dennis’, Hendry’s, Newsplus, Co-Op (Trinity Road), Lidl and St Ninian’s Square Newsagents for allowing delivery boxes to be put in their premises. Thanks were also paid to the ‘Posties’, the sorters, and to Ron from Sanpado for delivering the cards to the Scout Hall for sorting.

The ladies gave a special thank you to the people of Brechin for their heartfelt support for the fund-raising efforts.

The total raised will enable the continued activities of the Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and hopefully the re-start of the scouts section as well as helping towards the upkeep and maintenance of the Scout Hall.

The ladies added: “We appreciate how difficult the financial situation is for everyone in the town and are therefore absolutely delighted that the sum of £4,860 has been raised for the Group.

“We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and wish you a happy and prosperous new year.”
