Down Memory Lane

editorial image

This week’s “Down Memory Lane” picture features an individual who was instantly recognisable to generations of Brechiners - a figure who was often to be seen walking the streets of Brechin selling fruit and vegetables from the back of his horse-drawn cart.

Albert Allison could often be seen in many parts of the town, along with his horse Prince. Albert used to amuse the children by telling the horse to go along the road and stop at a particular hose, which he did with great regularity. Albert is pictured on his rounds in Guthrie Park, the child in the front of the picture is Fiona Murray Knowles.

Many thanks to Mrs Carrol for lending us this picture.
