Embroiderers’ Guild’s appliqué presentation
THE MONTROSE Branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild will hold its next meeting on Saturday, January 19 in Columba Hall, Market Street, Montrose.
Beginning at 2 p.m., the guild will welcome their speaker for the day - branch Chairman Isobel Luke.
Isobel is an experienced stitcher, lacemaker, quilter, and much else besides.
She will talk about appliqué, a versatile technique which appeals to those with traditional as well as modern tastes.
The presentation will be followed by afternoon tea, which gives everyone an opportunity to chat and meet other members, who are drawn widely from Angus and the Mearns.
A spokesperson for the guild said: “Visitors are always welcome to our Saturday afternoon meetings: entry £2 refunded on becoming a member.
“The Guild is for anyone with an interest in embroidery and all the associated arts and crafts – from beginners to experienced stitchers – so please come along.”
