Brechin Floral Art Club’s chairlady Mrs Lorna Ruxton presented cheques to Miss Jean Grey, representing Brechin Old Age Pensioners, and Malcolm Finlayson, Radio North Angus, at the October meeting.

The annual charitable presentation was followed by a very enjoyable floral art demonstration titled ‘Memories’ by Anne Cant from Kirkcaldy.

Arrangements included a floral form of a ‘Knickerbockerglory’ and several ‘Bright Flower Power’ designs.

Her banter and chat had everybody reeling with laughter and a good time was had by all. The club is holding a Christmas Bonanza Coffee Evening in the Cathedral Hall on Friday, November 11 from 7 pm to 9 pm.

Lots of gifts and goodies will be on sale, and there will be refreshments of tea, coffee and cake.

Takings from the evening’s sale will go towards a Flower Festival planned for the newly renovated Brechin Cathedral in 2012.
