From the archives: 30 years ago

The Northern Divisional finals of the Scottish Community Drama Association took place in Dundee College of Education last week. Drama groups from Aberdeen, Aberfeldy, Brechin, Dundee, Pitlochry and Orkney (2) competed for a place at the Scottish finals in Inverness. Brechin were narrowly edged out of second place by the Ury Players, who progress to the national finals alongside Aberfeldy.

“In Angus you are renowned for the amount of work you put in to road safety in schools,” said Chief Constable Robert Sim at Angus Road Safety Committee’s annual reception for teachers in the Town and County Hall, Forfar. He added: “There are more activities in road safety in Angus than in any other part of the country.”
