Michael Cohen (9), from Aberlemno, got his wish last Thursday. Michael, very keen to be a policeman, had written to the ‘Donald’ll Fix It’ campaign organised by Forfar and District Round Table, asking to be a policeman at Forfar. Table chairman Mr Donald Baxter and Tayside Police quickly obliged. On Friday “Constable” Cohen, wearing a police cap, went on tour of the police headquarters at Forfar. He then went in patrol van to Tayside Police headquarter in Dundee where he lunched in the police canteen.

Montrose’s new £150,000 station was officially opened by Dr W. K. Fitzgerald, convener of Tayside Regional Council, on Monday. The new station, less than half the size, of its wooden predecessor, is the first of its kind of open-plan design.
