Brechin Community Council believes Tayside Region’s policy of charging for car-parking in the town is running at a considerable loss. It therefore agreed last Monday night to support the motion of Mrs Dorothy McLeod to remind the Region that at a public meeting when charges were proposed it was “categorically said that if they did not pay they would be reviewed, inferring that they would be removed.

The Brechin in Bloom committee, Rotary Club, US Navy and Angus District Parks Department have united in planting 10 cherry trees in Trinity Fields Crescent at the northern entrance to the town. The Rotary Club donated the money to buy the trees and the US Navy allowed the planting in the housing scheme built for its personnel.
