From the archives: 30 years ago

At a meeting of the Executive of Angus tourist Board in the Council Chambers, Brechin, last Tuesday, members discussed the ineffectiveness, and in many cases the lack, of specific signs throughout the district. The manager reported that there was a meeting pending with the Regional authority on the subject of signposting. It was suggested that it might be helpful if he could present a wide general picture at that meeting and would welcome comments from residents in Angus regarding in adequate signpostings.

Increased police activity is one of the reason fewer bulbs were stolen from Angus District Council’s Christmas trees and seasonal displays in Brechin, Forfar and Kirriemuir this season.
