A new site of special scientific interest in Angus has been named by the Nature Conservancy Council. It’s Dun’s Dish, a small loch between Brechin and Montrose which is occasionally used for outdoor curling competitions at this time of year. Angus District Council, who have been informed of the new site, are to ask the NCC that curlers be allowed to continue using the loch. Two extensions of existing sites have also been notified, Kinnordy Loch and Elliot Links, Arbroath.
Nearly £3000 has been raised by Brechin branch of the British Heart Foundation in its inaugural year, the first branch annual meting has been told. Of this, £2144 has already been collected and a further £800 is to come in.
