Mr Conan Ritchie, convener, has again been able to recruit an enthusiastic band of volunteers to man the tourist information caravan at the Square this season.

Signing on at the roll-call and undepressed by the heavy showers of rain were: Mrs Margaret Smith, Mrs Dora Lowden, Mrs Winn Short, Mrs Evelyn Grant, Mrs Dorothy Macleod, Miss Helen Pringle, Mrs Chrissie Bangay, Miss Nancy Spence, Mrs Jean Hetherington, Miss Jean Thomson, Miss Mamie Bruce and Mrs Margaret Mackenzie.

Mr Ritchie would like to see a daily exchange of information between the caravan and anyone offering accommodation, thereby giving visitors an up-to-date register.

As a small rural school of 15 pupils aged from six to 12, it is particularly proud to have raised £143 for the World Wildlife Fund.
