Mr George Steel, of Messrs. Forbes & Steel, Radio Salon, told the Town Council at the monthly meeting on Monday that he was hopeful that they would now be able to remedy the persistent poor TV reception in the Montrose Street area. Many things certainly required attention but there was nothing serious. He proposed using equipment originally purchased by the Council to aid reception in the Caledonian Road area but was found to be unnecessary there, to level out the signal in Montrose Street to give a more equal spread.
A total of 256 bags of good, used clothing and blankets were collected in Angus in response to the Help the Aged appeal. Brechin’s contribution was 27 sacks, collected in St Andrew’s Church Hall. Ladies from different churches were on duty on the two days of the appeal.
