At a public meeting held under the auspices of the Town Council on Sunday afternoon opinion generally was very much in favour of Brechin having a Community Council to safeguard local interest after the reorganisation of local government. A steering committee was therefore formed to “investigate and consider” how best to set up a Community Council which would be ready to start working in about a year’s time.
