Capital projects to be approved by Angus District Council (Leisure and Recreation Committee) include the landscaping of Brechin railway embankment, £35,000; landscaping area at Skinners’ Burn, £20,000; embankment at Nursery Lane, £11,5000. A total of 113 summer concerts are to be staged, of which 83 will be at Montrose and Arbroath and the remainder at Carnoustie, Forfar, Brechin, Kirremuir and Edzell.

The total cost of operating Angus Recreational service during the coming year is estimated at £1,422,173. The major loss-makers are golf courses at Carnoustie and Montrose (£49,499); swimming at Arbroath, Forfar and Montrose (£164,066); halls ,community and leisure centres (£163,125). A long hard look is to be taken this year at hall facilities and charges.
