The improvement of the toilets at Andover School should commence in May of this year and be completed by August or September, Mr Alick Buchanan-Smith, MP, has been informed by Angus Education Committee. In the autumn of last year Mr Buchanan-Smith met a deputations of Andover Parents. The parents, he said, had been very reasonable. They did not ask for an expensive new school, in the meantime at least, since the actual accommodation was adequate, but only that the basic facilities be made as good as in a modern school.

By 26 votes to 18 Angus County Council has agreed to hold a special meeting to discuss devolution. Rev W. Osler Nicoll, Auchterhouse, said that reorganisation had been forced on them. Devolution had come by the insistent demand of the people of Scotland.
