If a swimming pool was to be built as part of the new High School it would not be used only by pupils of the High School but by pupils from other schools in town and district. This raised various problems, Rector Anderson told the Brechin and District Education Sub-Committee at their meeting on Thursday, but these problems should not be insoluble.

A party of 71 High School pupils with seven teachers was going to Paris this summer, it was reported. The Rector said that they were having difficulty in getting train accommodation for so many. There had been an attempt to split the party into two - those who wanted sleepers and those who did not - but this they had strongly resisted, and they had good hopes of being able to go all together.
