A road improvement scheme at Finavon, involving a bridge with a 150-foot span, is scheduled to start in May 1966. But preliminary work must begin this summer.
“Heigh-ho, the wind and the rain,” the Round Tablers certainly did not sing on Saturday; but, although the elements were at their “worstest” the weather did not seem to effect the very substantial results of the Table’s day-long fund-raising effort. In fact, all forenoon the wind was blowing folk in to the City Hall frae a’ the airts and in the afternoon, when the rain joined forces with the wind, many country folk in town for the afternoon were among those who found a warm and convenient welcome waiting for them at the Hall. The Tablers hope to have a net profit of around £170 from their effort.
