The burgh surveyor had received four tenders for the proposed children’s paddling pool at the Inch. The lowest was over £1300. The provost said that he thought that the estimated cost they had originally been given was from £600 to £700. He did not see how they could use any of the tenders.

The oldest Foden steam waggon in the world came to Brechin on Friday in the course of a tour of the North-East to mark the centenary of that very sturdy Aberdeen wholesale firm John E Esslemont Ltd.

The collections made in Brechin for the Royal Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children totalled £109 10s 3d which, although £2 5s 6d less than the previous year, is most creditable to all concerned.
