Bailie McKenzie was in the unhappy position of having to dash the Councillors’ spirits again with the gloomy tidings he had brought from Forfar: there was to be another postponement in the start to the erecting of the High School.
The Bailie had been at a meeting of the Property Sub-committee of Angus Education Committee, where it was announced that government expenditure had been cut to £250,000, which would be spread over three years. Work would, therefore, be delayed on school projects except those already started.

The Duchess of Roxburghe presented the trophies so graciously at Brechin’s annual Flower Show on Saturday.
