At a meeting on Wednesday, Angus Education Committee agreed to send a strong deputation, headed by the chairman Col. Scott, to Edinburgh to protest against the low allocation for school building for the next three years. The new Brechin High School, whose building was scheduled to start in August next year, is one which will likely be delayed.

The estimated cost of the extension to the Public Library, including architects and surveyors’ fees, is now reported to be £9,200. (The original estimate was approximately £6,000.) The finance committee recommended that the council borrow a sum of £6,800 over a period of 30 years to meet the balance.
