From the archives: 50 years ago

Angus General Hospital Board have asked the Eastern Regional Hospital Board to reconsider their hospital and specialist services plan for Angus. The Board also criticised the upgrading of Stracathro Hospital too interim district hospital status at an estimated cost of £400,000. 
The two decisions were in a motion accepted by the Angus Board by a majority of nine votes to four at a special meeting last week.

A telegram of good wishes for a happy and successful afternoon from the Rev. and Mrs James Anderson, now at West Hartlepool, was read at the opening ceremony of the Cathedral Woman’s Guild annual Sale of work on Saturday. The sale was a very happy and friendly affair. The grand total reached was £350.
