Brechin school attendances are still suffering under the prolonged mumps visitation. At Tuesday’s meeting of the Brechin and District School Management Committee, Rector Anderson added that unfortunately the High School staff was now also affected.
At Brechin Town Council, Mr Pitkethly reported that the Hydro-Electric Board were about to carry out certain modifications to the gear in the electricity substations. This would involve the Council in alterations to centralise their street lights to control switches, costing about £50. Mr Pitkethly added that the alterations would be a high help in the case of a breakdown in street lighting. They would be able to locate a fault within an hour.
