‘Opera week’ in Brechin has been revived after 30 years (we can safely say) with the greatest eclat. All honour to the small army of enthusiasts who have combined and contrived to mark Brechin Amateur Operatic Society’s production of ‘Bless the Bride’ such a triumph for the newly revived Society (and one which can rank with the many notable shows of the past). The first three of the six nights of the Opera’s run have seen the Hall filled practically to capacity each night, and for everyone its been a memorable 3.5 hours of colour, run and music.

Prince Charles, who was a member of the Gordonstoun School choir and orchestra which gave a concert in Montrose Town Hall on Saturday, was the guest overnight of the Earl and Countess of Dalhousie, at Dalhousie Lodge, Edzell.
