Football: Due to the overnight snowfall Brechin City were without a game on Saturday. For manager Fleming it was not an idle day. He completed a double signing. Ian Campbell, City’s top scorer for so many season was involved in a swap deal with midfield man John Perry and Derek O’Conner, from Dunfermline. If we have not got money to buy players we have to fix up exchange deals, the manager said.

Table Tennis: McLeigh/Hood Hawks 2, Finnans 7.
This defeat seals Hawks’ fate and leaves them second bottom of the third division. The game was much closer than the score suggests with six of the nine games going to three sets. Doug Angus and Clark Dow won the games for Hawks.
