Swimming: Fourteen clubs took part in the Midlands District Swimming Association “B” Grade Championships held in Perth recently. Thirteen members of Brechin Beavers Swimming Club entered the heats which were held on the Saturday and seven of these qualified for the Finals on Sunday. All seven gained shields except Nicola Black, who was doing so well but unfortunately had to withdraw before the end of her race.

Schools sports: Maisondieu Primary School’s annual sports day was blessed with warm sunny conditions at the High School grounds. The boys’ champion was Anthony Murphy; runner-up, Stuart Oag. Girls’ champion was Dawn Carnegie; runner-up, Carol Reid. Champion House was Prosen.
