Football: Arbroath Rancel A 2, Brechin Harp 9.
Neil Peters won the toss and possibly the game for Harp by electing to play with the wind and rain in their backs and they had a half-time lead of 6-2. The second half saw the boys playing into the gale but thanks to some splendid running by Tommy Martin they increased their lead to 9-2. This was too much for some of the Arbroath boys who were crying with the intense cold and their Manager called a halt with 10 minutes remaining.

Football: there was sufficient frozen snow on the pitch at Glebe Park at the end of last week to have Brechin City’s league game against Motherwell declared off. To manager Ian Fleming, with so many injured players, it was a relief.
