Football: Forfar E.E.C. 0, Brechin Vics, 1.
This match was played in very stormy weather and made ball control very difficult. Vics were off from the start but the home team came more into the game and attacked Vics’ goal. Vics’ defence, however, was on top form.
Vics pressed again and after some near misses Noble scored.

Cricket: Brechin, after finishing runners-up for the past two seasons, won the Strathmore Union title by beating Montrose by seven wickets at Union Park on Saturday. Brechin last won the Championship in 1956.
This year’s long overdue success is a fitting climax to Brechin Cricket Club’s 125th anniversary year.
