Football: Alyth United, 2; Brechin Matrix, 3.
Matrix were a trifle lucky to win the championship on Friday, leading comfortably by three goals, they slackened off and almost paid the penalty. A header by Carnegie gave Matrix a one goal lead at half-time.
Early in the second half Douglas and Robertson increased the lead. A Doyle free kick found Downie in position to open Alyth’s account and form the next free kick Doyle’s first-time went under Barrie’s diving body.

Cricket: Brechin v Huntly.
Huntly, who earlier this season beat Brechin on their own ground, came to Guthrie Park on Sunday and beat the homesters by 79 runs.
