Hockey: Brechin 2, Aberdeen Acad. 8.
Brechin were fortunate enough to count first in this high scoring match. At this stage they were well on top but the defence must carry the can for what followed. The Academy gradually got on top of a poor defence which showed gaping holes at all corners. These players must learn to play to the whistle; very often they were too busy appealing to the umpire to tackle.

Football: Queen of the South 5, Brechin City 1.
The match was not so one-sided as the score suggests. The first half was evenly contested, with neither team gaining much advantage. Queen’s were able to master the Brechin defence, reshuffled due to injury, to take the win.
