Cricket: Brechin V Kingsway
Brechin’s 2nd XI were probably debarred from a good victory when a snow storm brought affairs to a finish. Highlight was Jack Harrison’s six for 12 in a spell of 14 overs, while Ron Graham had three for 15. Ken Beedie had the satisfaction of the recording the first “sixer” for the season and he and Philip Christie were batting well when proceedings were brought to a close. Kingsway recorded 69 runs, while brechin were at 20 before the match was abandoned.

Football: Queen’s Park 2, Brechin City 2.
Lowly Brechin had one of their best games in a not very distinguished season against Queen’s Park. Queens had the bigger share of the pressure but City were well worth their point.
