Girlguiding Edzell is holding a meeting to discuss its future in Angus, and is keen for as many people to pop along and have a say.
The meeting to will be held this Friday from 6 pm at the Edzell Church Hall. Children are welcome to attend as a crèche will be provided.
A spokesperson says: “If you live in the Edzell area and have young girls between the ages of five and 16 years of age and they would like somewhere to meet new friends, learn new things, face different challenges and most of all – have fun for one night a week in a safe and girl only environment - then why not ask them to join Girlguiding?
“We have three sections, Rainbows for girls between five and seven years, Brownies for girls aged between seven and ten and Guides who are between the ages of ten and 16.
“Girlguiding provides the girls with lots of fun activities to do during the year.
“Last year we had our 100 years where we held a 100 hour camp at Ladenford which girls of all sections attended.
“Rainbows went to Edinburgh Zoo, Brownies went to Jumpin Joey’s and Guides went dancing on ice.
“Girlguiding gives girls and young women a voice, we promote equality and diversity and we are relevant to today’s girls. Most important we provide a safe and girl only environment.
“We are also looking for women aged between 18 and 65 who would be interested in helping these young girls to have fun.
“You will have an opportunity to meet new people within the Girlguiding community, and experience the many different and wonderful activities that the girls are involved in.
“There is also the chance to gain various leader qualifications such as the Caterer’s badge, which will look good on any CV.
“So please come along to the meeting on Friday and find out all about Girlguiding in Angus.”
