Healthy Start cafe set to open in Brechin’s Cathedral Hall

The successful format of the Healthy Start Café which has been running in Forfar for the past 18 months is to be rolled out to Brechin, with the official opening on Thursday (tomorrow).

The café, which is part of Angus Community Health Partnership’s Healthy Happy Communities Project, is to be held in Cathedral Hall, Brechin running on Thursdays between 11.30am and 1.30pm.

The aim of the group is to provide a comfortable, relaxed and informal environment for pregnant women and parents with babies.

From the minute they discover they are pregnant, women are welcome to come along to the café which provides a comfortable space where they can chat together and share their experiences.

The Healthy Start Café provides a healthy snack and, over the first four weeks, will discuss a programme of activity with the mums-to-be and parents that come along.

This free café is open to families, partners, friends, babies and older children are welcome. Volunteers are being sought to help run the café and to help with babies while parents participate in activities.
