Brechin Scouts have been busy delivering Christmas cards to households within Brechin as part of their annual Christmas card delivery service.

Anyone wishing to take advantage of the local Scout Group’s annual fund-raising Christmas Card delivery service only has until 2 p.m., today, Wednesday, December 19.

Cards, which can be posted in collection boxes at Co-operative (Trinity Road), Dennis’s, Hendry’s, Lidl, Newsplus and St Ninian’s Square Newsagents, can be delivered anywhere in Brechin town for a donation of 20p to 30p - cheaper than a second class stamp!

“As the only fund-raising activity undertaken by the Scout Group, this is a vital time of year for us and we hope to once again provide a valuable service to the people of Brechin,” explained Dorothy Black, treasurer of the group.

“We would like to thank the proprietors of these shops for their assistance with this event.”

Collection boxes will be available until 2 p.m., on Wednesday, December 19.

The last sorting date for cards will take place tonight.

Readers are asked to note that Christmas cards can only be delivered to the town area of Brechin. Cards for Farnell, Trinity, Edzell, Dundee and North Yorkshire unfortunately cannot be posted or delivered.

If you do make a mistake and place these types of cards in the collecting boxes accidentally please contact Elizabeth Kidd on 01356 624210, so that cards can retrieved and returned to you for posting with the Royal Mail.
