Members of the Brechin Acorn Club were welcomed back to the first meeting of 2014 on Wednesday, January 8.
A warm welcome was extended to Dr Charlie Allison who, before his retirement, was an anaesthetist at Stracathro Hospital.
The title of his talk was ‘The gas man cometh’. This turned out to be a most interesting, informative and very entertaining afternoon with various anecdotal references to his professional life and leisure activities.
Golf and being a member of the local camera club are high on his agenda.
Alice McIntosh gave a very generous vote of thanks.
After tea and before the meeting ended members spent 10 minutes finding words of four letters or more from the word ‘anaesthetist’. A very apt finish to an enjoyable afternoon.
