At LAST week’s meeting of the Brechin Rotary Club, Gordon Penman came along and entertained the club members and guests with a programme of Scottish music with an accent on tunes with a Brechin connection.

Gordon, who is an accomplished violinist from Montrose, is involved in teaching and is well known in local musical circles.

He is a stalwart of the Tayside Symphony Orchestra and performs at many musicals, including some at our very own City Hall.

Accompanied by Rotary Club member Isobel Luke, he revealed a deep knowledge of local composers and their works, proceeding to dazzle the audience with his exquisite playing.

Gordon was thanked by Rotarian Charlie Allison who conveyed the club’s admiration for a great evening’s entertainment.
