Summer is drawing closer and it’s time to get in shape - so pop along to Brechin Leisure Centre’s open day.

The fun starts at 10.30 am on Saturday, July 2.

Brechin Leisure Centre is holding a day long fiesta of exercise.

It offers the opportunity to see what exercise classes are on offer.

Local clubs will be handing out information and displaying their skills and the staff will be running certain challenges too.

Fitness Classes:

It’s the summer release of Les Mill’s music so pop in and see what Lesley, Pam, Linda, Steph, Susan and Ruari have to offer through the various classes: Rpm, Bodyattack, Bodypump, Bodybalance, Bodyvive and Bodyjam.

These classes can be sampled through the four options where you get to take part in five of the six classes, each of the samples runningfor half an hour.

So from 10.30 am - 1 pm this is the perfect opportunity to test your summer fitness out.

Open Day:

There will be a huge range of activities for everyone.

In addition to displays by local clubs, adults have the opportunity to take part in some fitness tests and there will be fun activities on offer for the children too.

For the adults there will be a taster session of the ever popular Zumba which has multiple classes at the centre.

The staff will be conducting two challenges in the fitness suite - the rowing machine challenge and the cycle challenge.

This is an opportunity to test your fitness against other people.

Trained staff will be on hand to give personal training on the Powerplate, so give staff a buzz if you are interested.

Children will have a chance to sample some activities more suitable for them.

On offer will be mini-kickers for pre-school children and Box Soccer for anyone who is at school.

Qualified coaches will be on hand to give their help, set up the skills and drills.

The Brechin Thistles Hockey Club will be also be in attendance to show the children how to get that perfect flick.

Inside the centre the staff will be running a SHOKK children’s circuit, short tennis taster, sumo suits, Gladiator and everyone’s favourite, the bouncy castle.

The Angus 4 Danz kids will be on show to give a display of what they have been learning in their dance classes.

Hot Desks:

With the centre heating up for the summer months there will be a variety of Hot Desks with more specific information on what the centre has to offer.

There will be a manned membership desk that gives information on the various membership options available.

Linda will have information on the Refer to Exercise programme and she will also be giving free mini fitness tests to willing customers.

Pam and Steph will be available to give people information on the wide range of fitness classes that the centre has to offer - from Bodybalance to RPM.

Kelly, Ruari and Barry will be displaying the junior coaching and holiday club desk.

This allows you to see what the kids can come and take part in during the summer as well as what they can do when the school term is in full flow.

The Holiday club runs Monday to Friday for the six weeks of summer and offers an extensive range of activities to keep the kids satisfied all summer long.

Margaret will be available to give information on the swimming pool and learn to swim programme.
