City of Brechin Pipe Band has a busy year of fund-raising ahead, including finding a new sponsor.
The band, ended 2011 on a high having successfully raised £1266.92 when they took part in a bag packing fund raising event at the Co-op on Friday, December 23 and Friday, December 30.
Kath McAndrew, secretary of the pipe band said: “We would like to thank the people of Brechin and the surrounding area who gave donations to the back during both the days.
“We have a lot of fund raising to do to pay for the buses to all of our competitions.”
Due to unforeseen circumstances the band no longer has a sponsor leaving members seeking new sponsorship.
Anyone interested in sponsoring the band should contact committee members to discuss any information they may like to know.
To help raise more funds, and to pay for the buses to transport the band to competitions, the pipe band has taken over the charity shop in Edzell and will remain there until January 31.
“If you have any “good as new” items looking for a new home please come along to the shop, any day, and hand them in to us,” adds Kath.
“All types of clothing and bric-a-brac are welcome. However, furniture, bikes and electrical goods cannot be accepted.”
The shop will be open from 10 am to 4 pm Monday to Saturday and 1 pm to 4 pm on Sunday.
If you have an item you require uplifting contact Kath or ask any band member.
The pipe band’s new committee met for the first time on December 1, which saw Kath McAndrew remaining as the secretary and contact for the band.
