Rotary Club member David Vernon gave a talk at the club’s meeting about two tables that he had brought back to their former glory after hours of painstaking restoration.
David is a well-known violin maker and restorer here in Angus, and he brought along an 150 year old John Brocklebank table to show some of his craftsmanship - made all the more interesting as Brocklebank was a distant relative of David’s.
David also told the story of his transformation of the Louis XVI style table, now residing in place of honour at the Burn, Edzell.
Dave Howson gave David a vote of thanks for his fascinating presentation.
Also at the meeting was Rotary District 1010 Governor Cath Chorley who spoke briefly about Rotary’s work with youth and local communities.
