At last week’s Brechin Rotary Club meeting George Watson was invited by member Robert Palmer to talk about his retirement project, which has seen him throw himself into his passion of Classic Cars.

George, an expert on mechanical and materials technology, retired after running several businesses in the oil support industry. He said that, in just 18 months, his project at the Crosshill Garage has flourished so much that he now employs four technicians and apprentices, with the whole venture under the watchful eye of his marketing manager and wife Margaret.

George’s passion and enthusiasm shone through his presentation, which showed how he lovingly restores and maintains anything from a Mercedes 280SL to a Triumph Stag. John Cavanagh gave George a vote of thanks for his well engineered presentation. Pictured are, from left, Robin, George and Brechin Rotary Vice president Ian McFatridge.
