Rotary club are entertained by Brechin High School jazz band

Brechin Rotary Club was treated to a feast of syncopated rhythm at a recent meeting when the Brechin High School Jazz Band brought their innovative style of music to a full house at the Caledonian Hotel.

The Band were truly amazing as Gabriel Calvert flawlessly tickled the ivories, Robert Duncan played a mean trombone, equalled by Tom Ennis’s polished performance on the guitar, all kept together with precision playing of the double bass by Jordan Blair and the impeccable beat of Gregory Hill’s drumming.

It all came together to give a wonderfully entertaining session of some of the coolest music you’ll ever hear this side of Dixie.

Last week Brechin Rotary Club had its Special General Meeting, at which plans for the future and the elections for next year’s club officers took place.

Jim Houston was elected as next year’s President. Steve Collis will become President elect. Brian Vettese and David Robinson were elected as the treasurer and secretary respectively.
