There were no sitting ducks at Brechin Rotary Club’s annual race.

President Steve Collis said: “We dusted down our ducks for the fifth annual duck race, which provided a quacking combination of good fun mixed with a little danger for the club members.

“The ducks had been well trained, and we can confirm that no animals were harmed.”

He added: “This year we have supported many good causes including Mary’s Meals and Shelterbox, and the £117 raised will help to replenish our coffers.

“The club would like to thank all the staff at the Hardware Store for their help, and praise to the Brechiners who were good eggs and did not duck out of being generous again.”
