The Watson-Watt Society of Brechin has announced that the bronze statue of the radar pioneer should be in place within the next two weeks.
Masons are currently working on the cladding of the plinth and the statue of Sir Robert Watson-Watt is expected to be delivered and installed by Powderhall Foundry of Leith soon after this work is completed.
The timing of the unveiling ceremony is still to be determined but this will involve only the information plaque which is being donated and prepared by local sculptor and businessman Tom Church. The plaque will placed on the plinth shortly before its unveiling.
The Society has also announced that it will hold its annual general meeting at 7 p.m. tonight (Wednesday) in the Damacre Centre. All interested are welcome to attend.
