Brechin Rotary Club member and world renowned string instrument maker David Vernon gave a violin making demonstration at the club’s meeting in the Caledonian Hotel last week.
David has crafted instruments for members of many famous orchestras including the Hallé in Manchester and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. He even made a gold inlaid cello for the Sultan of Oman a few years ago.
David demonstrated how he painstakingly converts the specially selected pieces of wood into an exquisitely made final product. His finely honed presentation plucked a string of questions after which Rotary Club member Melvin Coates gave David a vote of thanks.
