Organisers of the annual Brechin Flower Show have thanked visitors and helpers of the event after a fantastic turnout.
The Brechin Horticultural Society host the event, which was held last Friday and Saturday at the City Hall in Brechin, every year.
This year saw an increasing of entrants from across Angus and the surrounding area.
Last year, exhibitor numbers were at their lowest for several years, but this was down to the wet weather experience in the summer months.
However, gardeners have enjoyed a much brighter summer this year.
Speaking after the event, David Dyker, secretary of the society, said: “It was an excellent show with numbers well up on last year, 110 exhibitors and 970 entries which included 300 from children.
“I think we had just about every nursery and childrens’ organisation in Brechin attending.
“The judges were very impressed with the quality in all the sections and given the quantities involved had a difficult job deciding on the winners, particularly the children’s judge.
“I would like to thank the 300 plus local people who came to see the displays, also the entrants, the judges, our sponsors and especially the people who gave up their time to help set up and run the show.”
The Brechin Horticultural Society was established in 1839 and they currently have about 200 members and a committee of volunteers.
