Edzell fund-raising stalwart Bobby Campbell, MBE, took some time out of his own fund-raising to give his support to another fund-raiser on Saturday.

Bobby was visiting his friend Ian McDougall, from Tillicoultry, who was abseiling in Angus to raise funds for Alzheimer’s.

Bobby was inspired to fund-raise for Alzheimer’s himself by Ian, whose Mum had suffered from it. He now almost at his half-way mark of his £1,000 target.

Bobby explained: “I promised Ian I would raise money for Alzheimer’s in memory of his mum. I have raised £460 for them so far, and another £40 is due to come in.”

Ian, along with a team of fund-raisers and a safety officer, abseiled down the cliffs at Red Head, near Arbroath.

Speaking ahead of the event, Bobby added: “I definitely won’t be taking part, but I will be going along to support them.”
