A top Scottish charity for the elderly is on the lookout for people who have gone above and beyond in their care of the country’s older people.
If you know of anyone in Brechin or surrounding area who deserves a pat on the back for their work with the elderly - Age Scotland would like to hear from you.
A spokesperson said that the charity, which is dedicated to helping people in Scotland enjoy a better later life, was looking for nominations for their awards which would be presented in the Scottish Parliament later this year.
The awards are made up of six categories including Volunteer of the Year, Service for Older People Award and Member Group of the Year. The categories also include the new Employer of the Year award.
Chief executive of Age Scotland, Brian Sloan said the awards were a way of challenging perceptions of later life. He continued: “We want to demonstrate how older people embrace civic and social responsibilities and showcase the depth of talent and experience amongst our older generation.
“If you know someone who is making a real difference to the lives of older people then tell us about them.”
Nominations forms can be downloaded from www.agescotland.org.uk/awards or can be requested by calling 0845 833 0200.
