Ainsley to fly the flag for Scotland

A Brechin model is set to be Scotland’s only female finalist at a prestige London competition.

Ainsley Henderson, celebrating her 21st birthday today (Wednesday), is participating in Top Model UK’s Natural Beauty Category.

She explained: “I entered and was invited to a casting in London where I did my catwalk in front of directors, then had my measurements taken. Out of 4000 applicants I was placed in the Natural Beauty Section with which I was thrilled.”

She faces competition from 31 other models, but the winner will be selected via a public vote. Voting can be done online at

Money raised through the competition goes directly to a selected charity - this year it’s Children with Cancer UK.

Voting closes at 11.59pm on Wednesday, March 30. Afterwards, Top Model UK & Worldwide 2016 model, fashion and awards shows will take place over the weekend of April 1 and 2 at the Hilton London Metropole.

Ainsley said: “This is one of London’s biggest yearly competitions. I’m flying the flag for Scotland and I hope to bring something home, besides my excitement and pride. I am so thankful for such a huge opportunity and I can’t wait for April to come around.

“I have been modelling this past year and I am getting more work and continuing to build my portfolio with different ideas and images which is fantastic. I was also Australia’s Sexiest Woman of the Month October 2015 where a featured article of questions I answered was then published in Star Mag over there.”
