Angus Council is working with local charity Strathmore Vintage Vehicle Club in a bid to reduce the amount of waste in Angus.
The council is supporting the club by asking residents to recycle items including old vehicle parts, upright and racing bicycles, old petrol and fuel cans.
Speaking at the launch, the council’s convener of communities Councillor Donald Morrison said: “I’m pleased that the council can help out. The club is doing a great job restoring tools that would otherwise be thrown away.
“The council is committed to trying to reduce the amount of material that is going to landfill and supporting this charity is one of the ways in which we can do this, whilst also helping the preservation and restoration of historic transport and related heritage items.”
Strathmore Vintage Vehicle Club’s chairman Allan Burt said: “We are pleased that Angus Council is able to support the preservation and restoration of historic items and diverting them from going to landfill.”
