We were recently fortunate enough to enjoy the hospitality offered at Arbroath Football Club which is a fantastic value for money deal.
Strathmore Event Services Ltd. recently took over the hospitality at Gayfield and their packages have proved very popular.
For £72 (£60 plus VAT) you can enjoy a tasty three-course meal and an open bar from lunchtime on match day until around 5.30 p.m., as well as a complementary team sheet and half-time pie and hot drink, all in the comfort of the Caird Suite. The food is an unexpected delight and is often the first thing people comment on if they have enjoyed Gayfield’s hospitality.
For our visit for Arbroath’s clash with Clyde the soup course was a piquant carrot and coriander which was satisfying without being overly heavy.
The main course was a mustard chicken with creamy mash and traditional veg to finish. The chicken was succulent and the sauce had enough of a peppery punch to please without overpowering the other flavours.
For dessert was a slice of hearty fruit pie which had pleasant hints of cinnamon and nutmeg and a fragrant side of mascarpone ice cream.
The half time mince pie and coffee was a welcome warm and tasty treat after a cold but entertaining first half and were quickly gobbled up.
At the beginning of the day each table is furnished with a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine and table service is on offer to keep all the guests properly watered from the well-stocked bar.
Host Brian Cargill and his team were on top form keeping everyone amused and enjoying themselves.
Service was first class, friendly and efficient, and our glasses were certainly leaning more towards half full than half empty.
Hospitality at one of Arbroath FC’s home games would make for an excellent present representing great value for money and very high quality. Recently new hospitality packages have been introduced which are tailored towards younger fans and also a special ladies’ day which has proved particularly popular.
All in all it was a great day out, and the meal tasted all the sweeter for Arbroath winning 3-1.
