It was a typical pre-season game but there was much to be positive about. With much of the first team unavailable the squad made up of trialists and youngsters did enough to give Loons’ boss Dick Campbell a bit of a headache as he looks to assemble his side for 2013/14.
The only goal of the game came from Omar Kader just before the half-hour mark.
Forfar were due to face Spartans away on Tuesday night as we went to press and this Saturday they will be at home again, this time to Dundee.

On Tuesday night, Montrose welcomed Dundee to Links Park but they will be at home to Highland League side Buckie Thistle in a closed door game.
